The glory of Anime Iowa. <3

Ahhhh, Anime Iowa. It's so much fun being surrounded in otaku. Sure, freaking out normal people by rambling about anime at school or something is fun as well, but it's just great being with people as weird as you! Guy quotes Trigun, three out of sox of us join in. You don't get that in a school setting.

Anyways, obviously I definitely had a lot of fun at AI, even if there were a few things that really annoyed me. (We'll just get the complaints over quickly.) The hotel was horrible, considering there was stuff spread from floor 2 to floor 15, and there were only 4 elevators for 1,500-1,600 people, and the stairs were annoying as hell because random floors would be locked off. The elevators made me dizzy each time I got out of one, my brother too. I forgot to eat the first day we were there, so when we were in the Dealer's Room, my head started getting light. Hm... I think that's it. Three complaints to all the ranting that's coming up soon, I think I did well. XD Oh, I guess I could complain that the one ballroom was freezing and the Anime Improv was hard to hear, but neither of those bothered me too much.

One of my really good friends (one of the sisters) and her boyfriend got to come over for the con, so it ended up being me, those two, two more of my friends from this school and my brother piling into one car for the con. That was interesting. We took the truck so two of us could just lay down in the bacl (Niisan's truck has a top over the back). Well, that was a close call. My niisan went the wrong way down a one-way road and a cop pulled him over. My friend and I laying in the back were just hoping the cop wouldn't glance back there and see us. ^^;; We probably weren't supposed to be laying back there, especially on an interstate part of the way. Oh well, we made 4 trips with people in the back and the only injury happened when my stupid niisan decided to slam on the breaks, causing me to fall forward and hit this crappy old wooden box and break part of it. My arm just got a little scratched up though. ^^

So, Friday. We got there a little late since we got lost trying to find the correct parking place, but that didn't matter much. The pre-reg line wasn't too long, but since my friends from IL hadn't pre-regged, we had to wait a while for them. We then went up the mass amounts of stairs (or did we actually make it onto the elevator going up and took the stairs down? I can't remember) to the 15th floor for the consuite 'cause... one of my friends hadn't eaten. Yeah, that was the reason. *Bad memory* From there we went to... uh... the Scavenger Hunt information meeting I think. We all signed up, but one group decided not to do it and the group I was in kind of forgot to go to the check-in one day and the next day we forgot our stuff. ^^;; Oh well. We didn't actually do much interesting stuff on Friday, 'cause it was kind of slow. We went into the Dealer's Room when it opened and I wasted some money. Got Moon Child (yay!), a naruto headband (finally), a kawaii FMA poster, and a really cute little Advent Children Cloud key chain. That was also the day I forgot to eat and I think the day I got randomly glomped because I was wearing my "I <3 yaoi" purse. XD Oh, met extremely tall Vash waiting for the elevator that day too... I think. Went to the extremely amusing opening ceremonies then too. The skits were great. Anime Iowa the alcoholic drink, Anime Iowa the video game and Anime Iowa the self-help system. Oh, and the guy doing the most part of it stripped for us. Yeah... He had been in a suit and that didn't last long. Yes, we was wearing closed under. Yeah, enough said. After that we decided to go home. Didn't end up doing anything too amusing after that, but I did manage to get in a fight with my mom. :3

Saturday! Saturday was probably the best day of the con. :3 My two friends from this school and I spent most of the day away from the other three because we had different stuff we wanted to go to, but whatever. We went upstairs to go to the Gaia meet up, but headed downstairs before we really even spoke to any one since we wanted to go to the Naruto event. (I think that was the reason at least... And I was still half asleep anyways.) The Naruto event was definitely amusing, especially the relationship chat stuff, and then we headed outside for a photo shoot. Truth, we wanted to hit the FF/KH photoshoot too, but we ended up getting distracted by the Naruto one and not really wanting to leave. We didn't end up staying for the whole Naruto shoot though, just got a couple random pics and good shots and then went back inside. On our way back inside, we spotted Greg Ayres (my favorite voice actor) and my friend talked me into asking to get a picture with him, so I did. ^^ I'm really happy I've got that. Though I kind of got fan girl-ish over it when we walked away, which I hate doing. Anyways, Greg-sama (don't ask why I call him that, I just started doing it a long time ago and still do) was really nice and friendly, just as I had been told he was like. Really amusing too. He showed up a picture on his cell phone that he had of Vash's voice actor dressed as a power ranger. XD Apparently said voice actor wanted him to delete it, but Greg wouldn't. That guy really is very amusing. Okay, so from my little star moment we headed back upstairs to check out the FMA photo shoot. Got some rather amusing shots from that as well. XD The Barry the Chopper there kicked ass. Then it was off to Dubbing 101 in the evil cold room. Again, very amusing. Somehow one of my friends talked me into actually going up there to try the dubbing, I don't know how she did it. And the person asked for a girl to do a guy's part that time. ^^;; The scene was actually this dude rambling away (all made up lines, not actually from the animes) about something and the guy I had a line for just looked up from his computer and said something like "Oh, I'm sorry. I was finishing my new yaoi manga." Cracked us all up my line had to do with yaoi. XD But seeing as how I get nervous in front of groups even though I'm not shy about speaking in front of large groups or anything, I made an ass out of myself... Oh well. I really don't remember exactly what we did after that. We had met up with the others for dubbing 101, so then I think we went back into the Dealer's Room. Wasted more money on the Descendants of Darkness box set (for $25 *drool*...), a Kakashi plushie and a couple of drinks. You know, the evil drinks that explode if you don't open them right. Reminds me, still got one upstairs to drink. <3 Got to meet "Chibi-chan" as my friends dubbed her. She is a really nice, perky, amusing artist. Didn't talk to her personally too much, but we did hang around her booth a bit since my friends from IL and niisan had be-friended her the day before. Then from there, we decided to go home though there was more stuff to do later since we all started getting bored and didn't feel like waiting all the time for the next stuff we wanted to go to.

Saturday. T.T Last day of the con. It was really slow and rather dull, truthfully. We (apart from one of my friends who went home early) went to part of the Anime Improv, which was amusing or rather lame depending on who was up there and if I could even hear them or not. Then we basically just boredly hung around the Dealer's Room some more since my friends from IL were working at a booth there that day and there weren't really any programs we wanted to go to or anything. I talked to someone at the booth my friends were working at for a while and got her Gaia user name. Cool kid. :3 Talked to some other people as well them. Got random glomped again when we were watching some random people fighting in the hallway. Then closing ceremony. :3 But after the closing ceremony, Greg-sama did something very, very, very awesome. He had gotten the alright to bring the currently un-released Trinity Blood first DVD (it's not finished, but the episodes and such at least most were) and showed every one the first four episodes. Besides the fact the room was freezing, that kicked such major ass. I need to get that series when it's actually released. ^^ (Greg-sama sounded so cute in his part as the pope...) Everyone was cheering, and "aww-ing" along with the show, which made it even more amusing than it already was. Getting a bunch of Otaku applauding gorey murder is great. XD One of the main characters was voiced by Vegita's seiyuu, which made it even more amusing. XD What else... Hm. I dunno. All in all, it was great.

There was also this whole thing with these cosplayers walking around randomly saying "Pool's closed" "Pool has AIDs" "Desu" and so on. It was from a forum niisan visits, so I was able to follow. Rather amusing. And, of course, there were the "Jenova's Witnesses." Not even going to try to explain that one. I'll just say, no I didn't mistype the name of the religion, and they had their own prayer made up. XD Hail Hojo. ^^

I am definitely very glad I went to AI, and it was even better since my friend and her boyfriend did get to come. (And that I got a picture with Greg-sama. ^^;; )

I think that's all I have to say for now. When I get my 100 some pictures loaded up somewhere, I'll post a link to it here. I got a lot of really awesome cosplay pictures even without being able to make it to the cosplay. Alrighty then, see you. (End long ramble from the person re-living a fun time at 2 am.)

Holy... Haven't updated in AGES. Oh well. That's not really anything new. And the school year's wrapping up, so I've been busier than normal with all of that stuff. ><

Okay... so what's new? Hm... I've been reading a lot more lately. Lotsa Vampire books. I finished The Vampire Lestat a while ago and started Interview with the Vampire after that, but it's hard to read those books for so long since I have to think, so I started picking up a couple easier books. Read Vampire Kisses, Kissing Coffins, Cirque Du Freak #8+9. Technically, I'm still reading Cirque Number 9, but I'm almost done and I've gonna finish today, so it's close enough. We're also reading Animal Farm by George Orwell in English, which has been very enjoyable. I love George Orwell. For that same class, I'm doing a "booktalk" (Book report presentation basically) on The Vampire Lestat. That's going to be interesting to stand in front of a class that already thinks I'm nuts for liking the class and tell them about this "sensual" vampire book I read and loved. XD Not to mention the last booktalk I did on Orwell's 1984,  a political book. And for our extra credit characterization thing, I read a "revised" version of the Pledge... Yeah...

Music. Been listening to a lot of weird stuff lately. Lotsa My Chemical Romance, Nightwish, Evanescence and Bad Religion. Quite a lot of Anti-Flag too. And a play list that I have a ton of really random stuff on. It's all really good music though. :3 Yup.

Niisan's back from college. It's been amusing having him here, and we haven't really fought yet. And he's gonna start teaching me sword fighting soon, but I've been busy/not feeling well, so we haven't started. We had a massive DDR fest, when we played for like 4-5 hours straight on a Sunday night. We got new mats because our old ones got trashed when Devin brought them to college. It was very amusing. Need to get him to play DDR with my tonight... After I've started my homework. Maybe.

I've always got stuff I could say about school, but I'm not going to. 'Cause that stuff's pretty boring. And I'll even save you all from having to hear me ramble about Jenna and my roleplay, since my Animal Farm book is sitting in from of me and keeps distracting me. Gonna go read my assignment and finish Cirque Du Freak 9. :3

Yesterday I had more to say, but I forgot, so I'll just improvise. :3

About 100 days 'till Anime Iowa!! I'm sickly excited. XD Especially considering that's still months away... oh well, we're finally in the double digits. (I'm pretty sure it's technically 99 days, but the site still says 100, as it did yesterday.) Well, I don't think I'll be cosplaying, but I'm gonna talk to my mom about getting her to start helping me make a costume, that maybe will be done by Acen, if I get to go. That mostly depends on what I have for school around then, since Niisan'll be back by then and I should have my licence by then. (Let's hope. >< On the other hand...) But considering Niisan wants to go too, we're almost guaranteed to. And some of my friends... Well, it's gonna kick ass.

What else? Oh, I spent more money. The new Sims mini-expansion set, the first two Loveless DVDs and the 4th Loki Ragnarok. All totally spiffy! The guy that was helping my parents pick out a new washer and dyer recognized I liked anime by the color of my hair and that I was wearing my kimono... Somehow I find that rather funny. Anyways... Oh, and my mom just got me a new portable DVD player. I'm currently procrastinating in taking it out of it's box. See, the old one was being shitty, so Mom returned it.

There's probably more I have to say, but I dunno what. Had anime club today, but that was just normal. XD They were talking about me as president again... Anyway. Ooh!! And bex-kun did a glorious drawing for me. Well, is doing. But she sent me a picture of how Remmykin looks so far, and it's absolutely perfect. T.T I love my ai sai. XD (Yes, I'm still using that nickname for her.)

Okay, now I'm done. Thanks bex-kun. T.T I love you. XD Buh bye everyone else!
